The sagas unfold in a majestic world reminiscent of medieval Europe. The protagonist Gats is a swordsman whose weapon resembles a huge chunk of iron. He and his followers embark on journeys to inflict vengeance. Creating cinema versions of this fantastic world and the complex sagas which began more than twenty years ago was no easy task. STUDIO 4C Co. Ltd, one of Japan's most talented animation studios, responsible for masterpieces like "TEKKONKINKREET" and "Mind-Game", rose to the challenge. The history and art were carefully researched. An innovative combination of hand-drawings and computer graphics has been used to recreate dramatic combat scenes. We interview Eiko Tanaka, the CEO & President of STUDIO 4C, as well as the director and animator, Toshiyuki Kubota, who is famous for characterizing "THE IDOLM@STER". And we also talk to Jay Noyes, who provided instruction and guidance on western swordsmanship for this anime version.
