Series is pretty good. DNR is close to (or even less than) the Zubat set. And no color grading issues on the previews.
All episodes and the 15-second preview for episode 44 (a new addition that wasn't included on the DVDs) are from a 4K remaster of the original negative masters downscaled for 1080p for the blurays. Said masters are 16mm film, so 1080p isn't really worth it when you add DNR and motion blur into the mix. And as with most of Toei's toku shows from 1982 through like 1999, there are some video effects that they just took a composite video picture and printed it to film.
The three Conversation videos were made for the DVD volumes, and were kept in SD on the Blurays, and Toei even made new h264 encodes of them with all the bitrate. Since these were shot using interlaced cameras, I've encoded them at 60fps. Resolution is 716x478 since the sides and bottom each had 2 pixels of black I decided to crop.
I've also included the data files from the old DVD volumes. As usual for the back-catalog stuff, they weren't included on the BD box. These are 720x540 png files.
16mm film is 100% worth 1080p if you're working with a raw transfer. However, this has been through DNR and h264 compression. And when I can't see any difference in quality with animated stuff, I sure as hell ain't gonna see it with live action where stuff is moving while the shutter's open.

I wish you'd understand that whatever's being written in Bunny Hat's torrent descriptions about the 16mm/1080p stuff will set a bad precedent. New encoders are gonna be reading that and will be encoding future 16mm stuff at 720p because they take Bunny Hat's word as the gospel and don't know any better.
Anyone's allowed to have their own encoding preferences but "16mm = 720p" is literally just a myth that's long been disproven. Toei's recent remastered outputs are really not that bad that they justify 720p-only encodes for that reason specifically, even with the DNR.
Also, you're right, 720p seems like enough, if we were living in 2008.

Sure as fuck ain't one if she keeps trying to falsely convince people with that "16mm = 720p" BS. Also, years of encoding ≠ experience, there are plenty of people out there in the real world who have been performing the same job for years but with exceedingly poor effort and have never gotten fired for it. Keep coping.
