Happy new years to everyone.
This release has an original translation provided by Splitter Triplets and everything else done by myself.
The songs were done as well as a considerable amount of TS.
There is a 2.0 and a 5.1 track for this. Both were dithered down to 16 bit
Thank you to Reza as well for offering some advice on how to encode this source and for having an extra set of eyes to help QC everything
File list
[Aurora] Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out [1080p HEVC BD].mkv (6.1 GiB)
QC was sleeping, basic errors found with the most rudimentary check:
01:34 missing punctuation
04:01 double space
04:06 double space
04:55 double period
06:08 06:39 21:16 28:31 31:08 31:12 32:23 45:10 46:01 54:51 1:04:54 1:07:15 1:08:08 regular dash used instead of em dash
19:11 stutter with a space, timing is off as the line starts after the stutter
49:37 W- welcome home => We-Welcome home
50:05 W-what? => Wh-What?
1:05:30 stutter with a space
52:54 I want the current Kaede to be be able to => I want the current Kaede to be able to
multiple 30+ CPS lines that are not great to read
the stutters are also very inconsistent across the board
@RaptoR If you are going to point out all those issues, then just fix it yourself and share a fixed copy. Everyone benefits. Here: https://mega.nz/file/glEDQCwa#HnBhTxj4oVETqZfGETPB5VwWq8cTRNRkiAt5oa1_X6s
>ok now go QC the other English release with countless missing lines, spelling errors, and TL errors, and get back to us on how that one is looking
the QC script for aegisub can find most of those errors automatically so i seriously hope there aren't lots of releases like this
So I watched it. First of all, there are weird period omissions like RaptoR mentioned. The typesetting is all over the place too, being inconsistent throughout the same signs, using too low blur, etc. I'm going to fix all of those and maybe post it here.
While everyone is here wanting to be helpful, I'll throw out there I plan on doing Dungeon Meshi this season as well. Anyone interested in helping with that feel free to DM me. Most helpful roles would be timing, QC, and maybe styling.
I guess that while people wait for Asakura's release, here's my v2 with some grammar fixes that RaptoR missed: https://mega.nz/file/U49VQLjY#Ws8PZTLetiSlGByN_BumylcvxkeyPAs7Ui_efoq3j9E
For what it's worth, the translation is good. Definitely not "unwatchable" or anything. With some fixes, there should be no issues with using this version to watch the movie. Thanks a lot for providing the translation.
Yeah, so I'm not going to do a separate release or anything, so here it goes https://mega.nz/file/kYZCmSwD#04zarrg5KcYiCX0VAbHSDmuVHACsg_WPN3uiQsCwLSA. What I changed was added ALL missing periods (with a special regex, so nothing should be missed) and improved typesetting in most of the places.
I checked against the mkv attachements and no, no new fonts in his file, just drag and drop
(should've at least upload it as an mks and/or go for consistency with Vivid on the dates because I don't think it currently matches, but whatever)
I recently watched the movie but there are still quite a few annoyances so I combined Persona5RoyalOnSwitch's fixes and Asakura's typesetting, thanks to them for doing those. I also did a bit more QC like fixing like adding a missing fade to a sign, restyling the insert song so that it doesn't look weird with the fade and editing the 30 cps lines down.
Oh, and Asakura's regex added periods to the end of all em-dashes and quotes as well as mid-sentence on occasion, so I've manually changed those. Now there should be just the right amount of periods, fingers crossed.
