Yea buddy it's called ASD, it's more common than you think among writers, people are too used to full spectrum autism but forget there are different levels, high functioning autism is a thing.
the question is more what is wrong with the studio execs and the whole industry if it decides to make these types of stories into actual anime. it even has A-list seiyuu for christ's sake. are we so devoid of any actual storywriting talent?
Wasn't this author an industry plant? I recall reading he's like the son of some higher up in the NHK or whatever. It would explain the stacked lineup too.
