Synopsis:
From Kawamura Genki’s debut feature film–based on his own novel–Yuriko (Harada Mieko) is a piano teacher in the early stages of dementia, having wandered off to a park on a cold night. Discovered by her adult son Izumi (Suda Masaki), their relationship is a troubled one stemming from past trauma that only worsens once Yuriko is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It’s then that Izumi discovers an old diary, revisiting through his mother’s eyes the incident that sparked a painful breakdown of their mother-son bond. (credit)
