Wow. Thank you for this. I lost my copy of the 2003 TV version. Glad to have it back again.

I'm guessing the DVDs were considered the best source for the 2003 season because the BD re-release was cropped to 480p. Lame, since the BD's have JP DTS-MA. What was the source audio codec from the DVD? Normally they are AC3, but I suppose PCM is possible on an old DVD. Just want to make sure this isn't a lossy-to-lossy thing. edit: Ok apparently your source was Vorbis because that's what x4subs used back in 2013. I understand Vorbis has been deprecated for about 10 years, but was there really a need to do lossy-to-lossy over to Opus? Or perhaps you found a higher quality audio source?
thanks, great release!

@nph I appreciate the feedback, I'm doing a dual audio release, sourced from FLAC audio.

@LastBreeze I think providing more detail in your torrent summaries/headers would probably help people like me a lot, where we are looking to replace our absolutely ancient copies of things (My oldest copy of Kino no Tabi, carried over from drive to drive then finally my FreeNAS cluster, is a 2003 TV broadcast rip, although I did discover the x4subs release while researching your release). AV1 is also a great prospect for people like me who want to get higher quality while keeping similar or even smaller filesizes. Obviously we want to avoid downloading worse copies of things, so if you are clear about sources that will help archivers, especially when we are deciding which AV1 releases to seed long-term. I understand you did list your sources but it doesn't say what the source formats are, or that a lossy-to-more-lossy conversion may have occurred (they are sometimes acceptable in very limited home-use circumstances, usually never though). Fortunately listing the group names did help me do my own research but it would save lots of people a fair amount of time in making archiving/seeding decisions if you put the information in the description yourself.

@nph you have good timing because the FLAC sourced dual audio release is up now.

The FLAC sourced release was deleted because I broke an unwritten rule by including an optional 1080p AI upscale. It's available on Anime Tosho until I make another nyaa page for it.
