oh.. another trusted
your green status is looking sexy **big boy**
Only 6 weeks late
to be fair if you count from when we picked the show up a month ago its only like 2 weeks late
Trusted Trusted. :)
thanks time to watch it again
I don't understand why fansubbers have an obsession of moving the subtitles based on the aspect ratio of the scene. It's like the black borders are some kind of a sacred zone in which no text shall be placed, even though it's literally just wasted space and perfect for displaying subtitles. And the spacing isn't even consistent. There's vastly different Y-axis spacing in 16:9 scenes compared to the 2.39:1 scenes. It's not even consistently relative to the height.
@Mailia > It’s like the black borders are some kind of a sacred zone in which no text shall be placed They are.

> I don’t understand why fansubbers have an obsession of moving the subtitles based on the aspect ratio of the scene. They probably think it looks better that way. > There’s vastly different Y-axis spacing in 16:9 scenes compared to the 2.39:1 scenes. Yes.
What's the point of fan-subbing if you aren't doing fun things with the subs?

Honestly, I'm not big on fun myself – or rather, I consider less more when it comes to positioning and movement of the main dialogue subs and typically find the sort of effects people do distracting, if not downright tryhard and attention-whorish, instead of "fun". With aspect ratio changes in this show, though, it feels appropriate to adjust the subs to follow, given how the framing is meant to be directing the viewer's eye in the first place. And the most natural vertical margin to use is less the narrower the aspect ratio in my opinion, particularly when both are present next to one another. Though I probably wouldn't want to if 21:9 were the full frame and the 16:9 shots were created with pillarboxing (i.e. the black bars came in from the sides). Not sure if I'd extend the approach to every anime that includes multiple aspect ratio, but then you can't paint everything with the same brush.
so is this dropped? is it safe to grab ghs' release now?

Not dropped, stalled at TS. Safe to grab? Heavens no, you'll want to use heavy-duty gloves and get your tetanus boosters before attempting to handle any fansubs.
the official subs are trash from what a friend translator told me, so I'd say it's better to wait. It's not like you are missing much given the quality of the show anyway.
Ah, typesetting, where fansubs go to die... Seen too many projects go that way. Hopefully this will still be able to unstall at some point.
