I really need to get back to Japanese Language!! I studied for 4 years towards the end of my college. I took a break for 2 years. I can still read stuff, but a bit rusty.
Perfect timing since this will motivate me even more than ever!
@ BUSHMAN … I agree with you completely about the Genki series of textbooks … they ARE very good … I started using them to learn Japanese a few years ago, then lost my set … I am in the process of getting a new set so I can go back to learning Japanese
… for anyone who wants to get the Genki series, there are two places to get them from
JList sometimes has them in stock https://www.jlist.com/category/books-magazines/study-and-culture-books
… a more reliable source for both the Genki series and the Minna no Nihongo series is OMG Japan (formerly White Rabbit) https://omgjapan.com/ … the nice thing about OMG Japan is they always have the textbooks in stock, AND they also carry a wide range of other Japanese language study aids, like kanji and kana flashcard sets
… I have been dealing with OMG Japan for many years and can recommend them to anyone … I have always gotten very good service from them (they are who I am getting my new set of Genki books from)
@ salaryman3 … I am getting back in to studying it … I look at it this way … one of these days I wont need to keep hoping that the scanlating group for whatever manga I am reading keeps doing ch’s of it … I will be able to grab the raws, either here on nyaa, or on one of the raws sites, and read it in it’s own native Japanese :-)
… and it would be nice to be able to watch anime in it’s own native Japanese :-) without having to bother with finding subtitled or dubbed versions
WORD OF WARNING … in the link provided by KOWBOY … be aware that the versions of the Genki textbooks given in that link are the very old first edition from May1999 … they did a complete rewrite of those books when they did second edition … there were a lot of problems with first edition, that they corrected in the second edition
… some of the other books given in that link are still very good, like the book “Japanese Core Words and Phrases” … so as long as you remember that some of the books listed in that link are WAAAAAYY out of date like the Genki books, some of them are still well worth grabbing
sadly … as I downloaded some of the files in this torrent … WAY too many are garbage
… they are either so far out of date as to be completely useless … like the Genki II files are the old WAY out of date copies of the 1999 first edition that was completely re-written for the second edition because of all the problems in first edition … or you get file formats that are junk for just about anyone trying to look at the file … like the Japanese in Mangaland files (I used to have a complete set of this, in hardcopy paper edition), where v01 is in djvu format, but v02 & v03 are in pdf … v02 & v03 are completely useless if you cant read v01
sadly, too much of this gigantic torrent is worthless :-(

@Isean2000 You don’t have to download all of it at once, just chose which folders/files you want in your torrent application.
