Recently I acquired a very high bitrate VHS rip of this early version of the first episode of Pokémon (comparable to the 2-37 that had been on Hulu). I made a comparison video for myself to make cutting a new improved raw easier. Well, I let my source see the video - and although I intended to keep the source private apart from the minimum I needed for my project, he explicitly asked me to encode and release it and make the best of the source, so that at least *something* was out there. I can see his logic. May it be possible to do a better encode...most likely. But this is what I've got - taken from a good, albeit not *great,* rip of the first VHS edition, before it was withdrawn due to the Porygon incident.
