======================================================================================== [Pendekar] Dragon Ball - Son Goku Saga [Dragon Box] [Multi Audio] ======================================================================================== ![Dragon Box](https://i.postimg.cc/WzSZ9hR8/Dragon_Box.png) Japanese Dragon Box DVD Rips with all available English dubs synced to it. Re-did our previous release, improving video quality while reducing size, adding more dubs and ASS subtitles. This should be our definitive version. The Blue Water and BLT dubs had their censored parts filled with Funimation's Dub, so you might notice a change in voices/score at some places, or weird stuff like the Turtle Hermit asking for a date, but getting to see Bulma's private parts, and stuff like that. We dropped the Blue Water Dub starting from Episode 005 because it became such a hassle it dragged down our speed by a lot. Also, the audio quality of some episodes is very bad. And some episodes, like 005, 009, and practicly everything after 122 are about impossible to sync. Thanks for all work contributed by the many new team members. You know who you are! ======================================================================================== MKV file information: - Dragon Box Video in H264, 720×480. Aspect Ratio: 4:3 - Japanese DVD Audio 2.0 AC3 - Japanese Broadcast Audio 2.0 AC3 (only Episodes 1-7 and 12) - English (Funimation) 5.1 AC3 - English (Blue Water) 2.0 AC3 (only Episodes 1-4) - English (BLT) 2.0 AC3 - VobSub, ASS, and SRT Subtitles - A Titles and Signs subtitle file for English dubs, in both ASS and SRT - A Chapters file, as on DVD ======================================================================================== ![Screenshot 1](https://i.postimg.cc/v8jXwNCv/shot0001.png) ![Screenshot 2](https://i.postimg.cc/NF1x4gbf/shot0002.png) ![Screenshot 3](https://i.postimg.cc/RZ0c3Qr0/shot0003.png) ![Screenshot 4](https://i.postimg.cc/ZKbNgF5L/shot0004.png) ======================================================================================== Cover is included. When they're finished, yes...
Awesome release as usual bro! If anyone of you asks their self why I have about the same avatar as Pukulan10jurus. I am a Pendekar Fanboy :P
@jetfire61999 It's a lot of work.
Thanks much for these releases!
"or weird stuff like the Turtle Hermit asking for a date, but getting to see Bulma’s private parts," It's utterly hilarious tho, Imagine asking a Girl for a date and she instantly shows you her private parts xD
Thanks. This will probably be the most complete version of the show unless the Harmony Gold, Creative Products Corp., and Animax dubs are found.
Thanks, I was looking forward to this. Your time and efforts are more than appreciated.

@TandiBandi: Yeah, I think people know by now you are our translator for unsubbed parts. The horn makes it obvious enough. And Kame Sennin just has that hermit swagger. :P @LTCProductions: I might update if that does happen. I did include Horny Gold with the movies tho. Thanks for your praise, everyone! From now on we only need to sync 1 dub, which is uncensored, so releasing speed should go up by a lot from now on!
still a fanboy tho, lol

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
Well, I couldn't have done the missing subs for the episodes 31-71 next episode previews without ya. Feel free to take the e-penis and have a quick wank lol. You were the first to do it.
That will give E-jaculation a whole new meaning lol

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
nice one lol. Kaio would have been proud.
Holy shit, I had no idea the broadcast for Dragon Ball was out there! It sounds fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
There's only a handfull of them. Only 1-7, 12, 25, 26, 27, 29, 40, 41, and 153 to be precise. I think it sounds awfull tho.
I only listened to the OP, but listening to the episodes themselves, I see the flaws of it. I think the broadcast audio sounds a lot clearer with some staticy audio and scratchiness while the dvd audio always sounds muffled. Personally, I still prefer the BA.
Good to see you back man! I've enjoyed your other releases so far. :)

@boobychan: If you like this broadcast audio, just wait and see what we have for Z... ;-) I hate all broadcast audio's myself, but then again, if I only included what I preferred it would be just Japanese DVD Audio and VobSubs. But the entire point of our releases always has been to be as complete as possible, so everyone can enjoy it his/her way. I actually hate having to drop the Blue Water dub, although I really hate that dub.
>I hate all broadcast audio’s myself Even the Z BA?!? Impossible! >But the entire point of our releases always has been to be as complete as possible, so everyone can enjoy it his/her way. That's very considerate, much respect! Also, was just curious, do you think there is any value to the Japanese audio from the Funimation singles? Or is the Dragonbox audio better in every single way?

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
The Z audio on here, I hate too. The one we will use is a lot better, but even then I still prefer DVD audio. Yes, Dragon Box audio is better in every single way. The only thing I could imagine is the fact that about 10 episodes are a little off-sync on the Dragon Box, but hey, guess who's fixing that with his releases... On the other hand, the Dragon Box has a nice stereo track (I think voices are still mono tho), while the Funimation singles have a horrendous mono track. TOEI always wants their releases to be superior to Funimation's, which is why Funimation always gets second-rate sources from TOEI. There is one exception, tho. The video of the GT Special is better on the Funimation singles. The Dragon Box version is plagued by wrong fps and accompanying ghosting issues, just like the first OVA, which never had a Funimation release.
Very interesting, particularly about the GT stuff. Okay, thanks for your expertise!

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
Noprob. Always willing to share the knowledge. Another GT fun fact: For the entire GT series, TOEI actually still has the original master audio. But unlike with the DB and DBZ movies, they chose not to use it for the Dragon Box GT, instead giving the GT series the same treatment the DB and DBZ series got with their audio for the Dragon Boxes. So, in theory, TOEI could still give us a (5.1) GT audio which is just as awesome as the Dragon Box movies audio... I doubt they ever will, tho.
Will be seeding this for a long time on a dedicated seedbox. Thanks and looking forward to the rest :)
Thank you very mach, this is perfect :O
Thank you as always.
Thanks a lot, your work is very much appreciated.

Thanks again for all the praise! It really does help motivating us through the hard parts (and lord knows this saga was one, with BLT and some Blue Water) Work on the next saga has already started, and having to sync only the Funimation dub makes work about 8 times faster so far... I think the finishing DB around the end of this year thing could actually happen... :D
The dvd audio is worse in every single way, dude...

I'm getting really sick of people sprouting opinions as if they were facts. Some prefer Broadcast Audio, and some don't. Saying one is better then the other only brings the flame wars, as people seldom agree, and opinions differ from person to person. If BA or DVD audio is better is a matter of taste. And in our team, only TandiBandi likes Broadcast Audio, so just be happy that we included it, as the only reason we included it is the fact that it was already synced. I allow you to enjoy the audio you prefer, so please allow me, as this groups founder and leader, to do the same. You can just ignore that superior DVD audio, you know... Unless these kind of shitty comments keep coming, we will keep including your shitty BA, because like I said, our goal is to give everyone the ability to enjoy Dbox footage with the audio they prefer.
@Sangofe, tho I prefer the broadcast audio over the dvd audio, it's still a opinion based concept. I Understand some people prefer the dvd audio because all the shit people did by keeping the broadcast audio to them selfs and got angry over someone leaking it on the interwebz. Sharing is caring some people dislike the fact that people thought hogging it was better and thus dislike the BroadCast audio

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
Like people can overcome their differences lol... I'm sorry, but having a bad atmosphere is new to me. I guess I'm not fit for the internet and should just leave lolz
What makes the audio on the DVDs sound better in your opinion? The broadcast audio, while incomplete for DBZ (not fully complete for every episode) sounds a lot better because it is less muffled, and cleaner to listen to. It makes for a more enjoyable experience to be able to listen to the performances with much clearer audio. For DBGT the difference is even bigger as there's a stereo mix from episode 5 onwards. I am not an audio editor, but i am sure people could post comparison pictures of what the two audios look like on graphs and explain the differences in detail.
That's like asking why someone likes a certain food or likes a certain song. People like what they like and in the case of auditory sense, it's extremely subjective and ultimately comes down to preference. Maybe you can prove that one audio is clearer than the other or better in some measurable metric or category, but I really doubt you'll be able to convince him to prefer the broadcast audio with rational arguments. At the end of the day, if he likes the DVD more than BA, he's entitled to that preference and nobody can tell him otherwise. And it seems like pukulan10jurus also acknowledges that sound preference is subjective as evidenced by this release that has multiple dubs and the fact that he never once said the dvd audio was "objectively better", but that he merely preferred it.
Hi, if the broadcast audio gets cleaned up properly, all that static clicks and the background hum desapears and it can sound a lot better than it does now. I did it on ep 12 and it is far better. I didn't like it much the way it was, but after cleaning it up it is a lot better.

I'm sorry, guess I was a little aggressive. I recently experienced some shit in my life no living being ever should. (Trust me, it's really bad) Maybe that made me a lot more irritated than I usual am. I apologise if I offended anyone. @sangofe: Okay, you asked for it. Everything makes the DVD audio better, especially the fact that it's actually stereo, it actually has some kind of bass, and unlike broadcast audio, doesn't sound like it was recorded through a tin can, although I admit that DVD audio can crackle. I got really mad at you for posting such a self-important comment to the point I immediately stopped all work on the next saga. Good thing people like boobychan exist to make me change my mind! He was right about the preferences thing. I work in the music industry (don't worry, I don't download music) and all my co-workers agreed that you should get a life if you're seriously making a fuss about this. Just be glad you don't have to watch shitty Super5 audio... ;-) Also, not very smart to pick a fight with a team that's doing stuff for you. Be happy that Tandi is a lot more forgiving than I am. @boobychan: Thanks for your comment! It urged me to keep going on. I needed that! I almost left the group I started myself after these comments, but I'm not gonna let whiners mess it up for the good guys! I most likely will stop reading and responding to comments tho.
@pukulan10jurus Thank you soo much for doing this!! Really appreciate the excellent work and devotion to the franchise! I have a couple of questions though: • Are the subs thoroughly QC for possible typos, errors etc.? Are they R1 based? Also, are the NEPs subs thoroughly QC to be as proper and accurate to the rest of the episodes' subs as possible? So are the subs archive material? • Do you or someone you know perhaps have any plans for JPN Kai 1.0 + 2.0 and Super in the future?
Also, is your final Dragon Ball batch gonna have any differences with the smaller batches you releases like this?
Arigatou sensei!! As @TandiBandi said earlier, the E-jaculation will be glorious.
You're a legend for this dude. God bless for your work
@pukulan10jurus "Everything makes the DVD audio better, especially the fact that it’s actually stereo" Except the series didn't have an actual stereo mix until DBGT episode 5... Just because the DVD track has two channels doesn't make it stereo. It's just dual mono. "...Also, not very smart to pick a fight with a team that’s doing stuff for you." Don't get a big head. He was just sharing his opinion, politely at that, and you blew up at him. You're acting like you're God's gift to earth for working on this project. You're not the only one to attempt a project like this and you won't be the last. I appreciate all the work you've put in thus far, but I don't appreciate your tone to my friend. "I almost left the group I started myself after these comments, but I’m not gonna let whiners mess it up for the good guys! I most likely will stop reading and responding to comments tho." If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
i'll just leave this here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTLBEzJQU9M also, if your audio isn't bassy enough you don't use a crap master with louder bass, you use an eq.
I just wanted to comment and say thank you for putting together what appears to be the ultimate Dragon Ball collection, this is something I've dreamed of since I had to sell my Dragon Boxes back when I was between jobs and I needed the money. It sucks not having the physical medium which is impossible to get now, but FUNi doesn't want to re-release it (or in the case of DB and GT, not release it at all), and the non-DBox project they had that seemed perfect - the Level Sets - they couldn't finish. I'm not buying cropped widescreen DBZ, ever. This right here is going to be the archival release for me. I've also been following iKaos's release which is also quite good, but the switch between the Level footage and DBox footage is pretty jarring. Props to him too, that's also a fantastic release, I'm probably keeping both. So again, thank you! When it comes to the whole audio debate that cropped up, I prefer BA too but I actually really like having both options, it feels more complete that way! I think the difference is a little more apparent in Z when it comes to quality, in DB they seem pretty similar with BA sounding slightly better to me. I second the guy that asked about Kai, I didn't realize until last week trying to download it for my collection that a good torrent of Kai actually doesn't exist right now. The 1080p version out there has sub problems whenever there's an insert song, there's a 720p version that doesn't have that issue but then it's 720p. Then you have the whole Yamamoto and Kikuchi score thing. What a mess.
How about you all shut up about the audio?! If anyone thinks audio (a) is better than audio (b), it's his own godamn choice and he's entitled to his opinion, but no, some jackasses who think they are know-it-all tries to basically tell him "Nah man, your taste is shit cuz bla bla" Well, guess what? We don't give a fuck about your "logic and facts". Hell, toei themselves didn't give a fuck, and went ahead and used low quality audio for GT when they had the masters. So, audio (a) is better? Well good, stick to it, just don't force it on others who prefers something else. It's a matter of choice, and choice has no logic and is not dependent on facts. Oh, and @clutchins, your "You’re not the only one to attempt a project like this and you won’t be the last." Guess what, it's been more than 10 years since the release of the Dboxes, you see anything good except this torrent? Every attempt to rip the Dboxes was shit. Some messed with the video, some had watermarks, some even deleted some footage. The only release close to this one's quality was that of utsukushii raws, and his was only jap audio and sub, AND he couldn't even finish it. So how about instead of getting mad for your friend, you tell him to stop forcing his views on others. And while you're at it, get off your high horse, and YOU get out of the kitchen.
@SoulBurner [@first paragraph] At what point was either Sangofe or I forcing our opinions on anyone else? He was just trying to explain how the BA is better. And yes it has shortcomings like tinny bass frequencies, but as DaburasBeard pointed out that can be solved by EQ. "Oh, and @clutchins, your "You’re not the only one to attempt a project like this and you won’t be the last." Guess what, it’s been more than 10 years since the release of the Dboxes, you see anything good except this torrent? Every attempt to rip the Dboxes was shit. Some messed with the video, some had watermarks, some even deleted some footage. The only release close to this one’s quality was that of utsukushii raws, and his was only jap audio and sub, AND he couldn’t even finish it." It's not my fault nobody can make a halfway decent DBZ project involving the Dragon Boxes so I don't know why you're taking that out on me. If you are so upset about the state of things, you should try doing your own project. I know firsthand how gargantuan of a task it is because I have actually tried to do it myself with my own Dragon Boxes, Blu-rays, etc. etc. And you know, at least there are some complete projects out there like DBNL and Winxbloom. I'd rather have a complete, imperfect release than an incomplete, perfect release. "So how about instead of getting mad for your friend, you tell him to stop forcing his views on others. And while you’re at it, get off your high horse, and YOU get out of the kitchen." I'm afraid you've misunderstood my quote: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/if_you_can%27t_stand_the_heat,_get_out_of_the_kitchen The context for that was him threatening to leave his own group over anonymous internet comments. I was simply saying that he should either brush that shit off or leave altogether instead of fabricating drama about leaving and then staying anyway. Basically put up or shut up.
OK I'm gonna go real slow here cuz I think you might need it to understand better. This whole thing started with pendekar and boobychan talking about the audio. And as you can see above, boobychan prefers Broadcast audio while pendekar likes the DBoxes audio. Both acknowledged each other''s preference without forcing their views to the other person. But then sangofe barges in to say "The dvd audio is worse in every single way, dude…" He's basically shitting on pendekar's choice to give his own preference more legitimacy. And then you freak out when pendekar gets pissed off?! Hell, if you had common sense, you would have left sangofe and pendekar settle this themselves, but no, you had to interfere like the hero you are to defend and get offended on your friend's behalf. The only reason I even entered this discussion is cuz you interfered. And this "I’d rather have a complete, imperfect release than an incomplete, perfect release." that is the difference, that is all that's needed to be said about you and me. While you would be content with it, I wouldn't even look at an imperfect complete release. Oh, and you think I misunderstood your quote? Nah man, that was just me being a dick to you since you kinda deserved it. But can we all stop this now? Look, we are all different, but we all here have one thing in common: our love for Dragon Ball. And instead of having a good experience with fellow DB fans, we're arguing on a torrent website? You guys realize how stupid and petty this is? And no, I'm not talking about only this discussion, I mean in general. Look up on kanzenshuu, db reddit, youtube comments, everywhere, and you'll see threads full with something like this. And most of the time, we are arguing about personal preferences, which makes it look even dumber. When you think about it, it is true that DB has a toxic fanbase. Hell, you and sangofe could actually be swell dudes (I hope), but here we are, arguing about basically nothing.
So anyway, I wish we could all be nicer to each other, and most importantly, learn to accept the different preferences of the other, then we'd be a more united fanbase. Peace out.
pukulan10jurus: I never picked a fight... I just absolutely didn't agree with your comments and felt you were misleading people. And misleading people is something i don't want to happen regardless of who they are, and what they are doing. You should watch this video if you think i am the one misleading people https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTLBEzJQU9Mf If you had said the english dub sounds better, then yeah, i would agree, their bgm sounds a lot better too. This has nothing to do with you as who you are. It is simply not agreeing on something that i find important here because 1)i felt your critisism was downright wrong, and 2)the broadcast audio is something i see as a selling point for future dbz BD releases. If you say it's worse than the current dvd audio and fans start to think that in general, there's no selling point anymore.
Having said that i think this release is pretty cool :)

I was out for some fresh air, which I really needed. As I hinted at in my last comment, I had some pretty heavy personal stuff going on when I posted that offensive comment and I unloaded it on sangofe. I already apologised to him, both here and on gchat. If he accepts my apologies, there's no hard feelings anymore. I would like that. @sangofe: Thanks for talking to me on gchat. Glad we're pals again, bro. And future DBZ BD releases... Isn't that a pipe dream? Would love it if they happen tho. With the movies, you never now... @clutchins: I find it funny how you don't appreciate my tone towards you, even though I can't recall ever talking to you, and say the "get out of the kitchen" thing when I actually was talking about leaving, but I'll look past that. Besides, the team wouldn't die if I did leave. Almost every team member knows my methods. I also can't recall me ever acting as god's gift to whatever. I just share what I consider best, same as I've always done. And yeah, I displayed a personality flaw for which I already apologised in my last post. Guess what? I'm actually a human being. I admit I was a dick, so let's just move on, okay? And I wasn't threatening to leave, I said I almost did, meaning I already decided I wouldn't. And I actually agree with you on the "complete imperfect collection vs incomplete perfect collection" thing. I can't promise I'll finish either, although I will always keep trying. But as said before, I'm a human being, and real life goes before Dragon Ball. @everyone: Thanks for all your support, even when I was acting like a dick! I'm now shifting my focus back to actually encoding some episodes. And don't let me, sangofe, or anyone decide for you which audio is best. Decide yourself! Hope everything can return back to normal now. Will try to make up for all this negativity with a nice bonus or preview of some sorts. Lemme think of something good.

@Yusei573: ASS and SRT Subs are as untouched as possible. Only reaally bad translations and names are changed (Like "Kuririn" to "Krillin"). The VobSubs are totally untouched. I will however, add the subs for the episodes 31-71 next episode previews, like with the old releases. I don't know if the final batch will be any different. They should stay the same, but if something like Harmony Gold dub surfaces online, there might be an update. Like what will soon happen to the movies with the newly surfaced Speedy dubs. Kai and Super... Super will be done after we finish GT, Kai after that. We plan on doing Kai from the Japanese 4:3 BluRay, and also syncing the Japanese TV dub with the different score and the Funimation dub to it. If we're not like 300 years old by that time, we will do a 2nd Kai rip, but with 16:9 German BluRay video source, as that is actually uncensored (!!!!)
@SoulBurner Facts doesn't care about feeling my narrow minded friend. It is like now everybody should suck each others dick to pleasure eachother because we wont want to hurt feelings ...But guess what..facts doesnt care about feelings . DVD audio is a shitload ....Broadcast audio is way better . Dragon Box video is messed up . That's all. @ pukulan10jurus @SoulBurner As for Broadcast Audio Vs Dragon Box audio ..it is not about choice..you would literally have to be pretty blind or deaf to be convinced and that believe that DBOX audio is better than Broadcast audio . Also ..you kept mentioning your Broadcast Audio is way better than the leaked one .. If you are talking about that CrazyRussian audio crap...you clearly have nothing to do with the audio industry. ....that version is just the leaked version with bass boosted with pooooor EQ . Facts doesnt care about personal preferences , or about opinions . Stupid being so uneducated. This is the Internet..there will always be haters ...whatever or whenever you do something . It is your choice to choose what kind of person you are . People .....stop using your nostalgia feelings and any other irrelevant arguments when dealing with facts regarding both DVD Video and Audio .... Both Braodcast Audio and VIdeo.
See, this above is exactly the moronic post you'd expect from an idiot. Oh and at least try to spell-check your disorderly paragraph so I can even take you seriously. Since you are VERY slow, I'm gonna break it down for you. Here are pendekar's exact replies you can see in this thread: > "There’s only a handfull of them. Only 1-7, 12, 25, 26, 27, 29, 40, 41, and 153 to be precise. I think it sounds awfull tho." Do you see the "I think" there? Opinions. You should google search it's meaning. > "@boobychan: If you like this broadcast audio, just wait and see what we have for Z… ;-) I hate all broadcast audio’s myself, but then again, if I only included what I preferred it would be just Japanese DVD Audio and VobSubs. But the entire point of our releases always has been to be as complete as possible, so everyone can enjoy it his/her way. I actually hate having to drop the Blue Water dub, although I really hate that dub." He is clearly including something he doesn't like here just to make an ungrateful ass like you happy, but no, you HAVE to tell him how his taste is shit. Well, you feel satisfied now? > "The Z audio on here, I hate too. The one we will use is a lot better, but even then I still prefer DVD audio.' Again focus on the word "prefer". You should search that too.
> "Yes, Dragon Box audio is better in every single way. The only thing I could imagine is the fact that about 10 episodes are a little off-sync on the Dragon Box, but hey, guess who’s fixing that with his releases… On the other hand, the Dragon Box has a nice stereo track (I think voices are still mono tho), while the Funimation singles have a horrendous mono track. The video of the GT Special is better on the Funimation singles. The Dragon Box version is plagued by wrong fps and accompanying ghosting issues, just like the first OVA, which never had a Funimation release." He is trying to explain why he thinks his preference is better, you know, unlike you, who is just barking "broadcast audio best!"
> "I’m getting really sick of people sprouting opinions as if they were facts. Some prefer Broadcast Audio, and some don’t. Saying one is better then the other only brings the flame wars, as people seldom agree, and opinions differ from person to person. If BA or DVD audio is better is a matter of taste. Again trying to explain his preference. Oh, and if you need him to all the time say "I think" or "in my opinion" at the beginning or end of every sentence he says, then you should really refrain talking to people in general.
I never said there are no facts, but like I said earlier, preference is NOT dependent on any fact. So yes, someone can love crap. You can think whatever the fuck you want, it changes jackshit. The only thing you can do is try to explain your choice and why it's better, you know like pendekar did, but no you have to force your "facts" on him by insulting his choice, hoping he will agree with you. Well, guess what? You failed. And if you're trying to "educate" poeple, you godamn FAILED. So in summary, yes, maybe you should suck a dick. It might humble you. Oh and "haters"? Kid, stop trying to act edgy. No one hates anyone here. Hell, even if your post is incredibly annoying, I don't hate you. No one has time to hate on each other over a godamn TV series. I hope I made myself clear enough. Oh and all of this is coming from a guy who prefers broadcast audio.
Thing is clear .. People have opinions . based on no fact check whatsoever . So yeah..everybody can have opinions...a shame that those opinions are not based on a simple audio quality check whatsoever :). Coming from somebody who has raw broadcast audio extractions .....reading that DVD has superior audio makes me rather inconfortable.
See, that's all I was trying to say. Now come here and gimme a bro-fist.
@pukulan10jurus As somebody who has been where you have been I do appreciate your work here, and I'll admit I was pretty irrationally aggressive yesterday so I apologize for any undue rudeness towards you and your crew. I guess I did kind of come out of nowhere at you now that you mention it lol. Like you said we're both human beings and I'd rather let bygones be bygones than harbor a dumb grudge against you. And I especially don't want to be further contributing to the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iywaBOMvYLI of this website. Much love to you and to everybody here and I really hope one day I'll open the nyaa.iss.one one day and see you've finished your project :)

@SimonCowell : Broadcast audios are better yeah IF it is greatly encoded. If it's poorly denoise or cleaned, it can sound worst than dbox.
@DBM I have it untouched and another version as cleaned by a group of professionals , so it is rather refreshing to watch.
@SimonCowell where'd you get the cleaned up version?
@thepunisher Discord.
@pukulan10jurus Thank you so much for specifying all the details of the subtitles and I will trust your work on them and the video 100%. I know you wouldn't release an imperfect work so I trust that the subs are as accurate as they can be at this point cause accurate translation is my numer one priority. Also, really excited that you will be doing Kai and Super after Z and GT is done. I understand that it will take time, but it is worth it if you can make archive releases for the franchise one day! I do have some questions: 1) For Super will you be using the JPN BDs? 2) For Kai 2.0 (Buu Saga) will you please consider on also doing a release with the cut JPN BDs (159 episodes) that has the JPN OP/EDs? It could be a sub-only release. I wouldn't mind at all. There's not a decent sub BD release of the JPN version and that's a shame as it really deserves one. That would be really appreciated. ^^ Also, on Kai 1.0 will you also consider including the Kikuchi score JPN audio that is on the Season Sets? I'd love to have Kikuchi too. 3) For your BD releases how come you don't encode them in h.264 10-bit? Not judging by any means, but it would be a more efficient choice with better encoding and smaller file size. Just a friendly recommendation.
@SimonCowell : is the cleaned up version on Discord something public or it's private atm ? I am using raws on my version but if there's something better, I'd like to change it. Thanks !
Well raw is flac and wav...and the cleaned is only flac.

@SimonCowell : ok then share them please
@SimonCowell : Thanks for the info, but is the flac one private or can be shared ? I am not going to request something that cannot be shared ofc (owner of the files do what he wants), but still asking and giving it a shot ^^
Dumb question but I couldn't find the answer anywhere, where are the subs sourced from (on this and the other torrents)? Are they the Simmons subs from the FUNi releases or are they done in-house? Not that it matters either way but I'm just curious, I've always liked Simmons' work though. But they're subtitle files, I know it's simple to add my own in later if I'd like.

@SimonCowell: Thanks for restoring negativity to this topic when it finally seemed to have ended. We all needed that. Facepalm. @clutchins: Yes please. Water under the bridge. I'm not getting into this argument any further. Regardless of my opinion, I will keep including it either way, so my opinion is not even relevant. Also, I think I just saw episode 33 surface online... ;-) @Yusei573: 1. Duh... I will always use a Japanese source, even if another one is better, as in that case I would probably do both. I find Japanese credits/title cards very important. 2. Not sure what you mean here, but, like I said, Kai will be Japanese 4:3 BluRay-Rips, with BR Jap Audio, and TV Jap Audio, and the English Dub synced to it. Maybe followed by the same with German video, because that's 16:9, for those who prefer that, and frigging uncensored. The episodes that are different on the American BluRays of the last saga will probably get it's own encode. But Kai is litteraly at the bottom of our list, so let's not get ahead of ourselves here lol. We might not live long enough to get there. 3. Well, 3 reasons. First and most important, I wouldn't be able to enjoy them on my 98-inch home theater because of compatibility issues with BR-players and modded PS3's, second, They are 8-bit on the BluRay, and third, the team member who paid the actual BluRays kinda did that because he needed it as he has troubles with 10-bit. @SilverIdaten: The source is ADC's subbed Dragon Box, which are just Simmons' subs with translations for the next episode previews added. Except episodes 31-71, which for some reason, lacked them. Tandi fixed that for our releases tho. Now we have all next episode previes subbed. (The Funimation GT singles have all NEPs, both dubbed and subbed)
Nice, that's fantastic to hear! Makes this release even better in my opinion.
I too whould be interested in hearing this cleaned up version. I'n working on mine aswell, cleaning it up and mastering it a bit.
What source are you using ?
I'm using what's available here. I don't think there are other sources
Oh ...well for cleaning i would have suggested a better source instead of starting doing the one from nyaa.
I don't know of any other sources than these ones for both db and dbz. Is there anyway I can contact you privately? Thanks
Broadcast audio for episodes 30 and 33 have surfaced. https://shiteatersubs2.wordpress.com/2018/09/25/raw-dragon-ball-030-033-original-japanese-broadcast-beta-hifi/
@pukulan10jurus Is there a reason you encoded the Dragon Box video to h264? Didn't the quality get slightly worse?

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
Sure, encoding always reduces quality, without any exceptions. But I encoded with a crf of 16, which is lower than most encoders do, providing higher filesizes, but better quality (our Movie 15 is a good example of this). So yeah, not as good as the actual DVD's/BluRay's, but I'd say we did a pretty decent encode. In case you meant why we don't use stuff like 10-bit encoding or h265, the answer is maximum compatibility. I want my encodes to also be playable on hardware. For myself, but also for others. That's also the reason we keep including SRT subtitles.
@pukulan10jurus Ok, no big deal. Luckily I managed to grab the DBox DvDs so I can always swap the h264 encodes with the untouched MPEG2s from the DvDs. Thanks for your hard work. It's greatly appreciated.

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
If you're doing that, I'd advise you to re-author the DVD's with the extra tracks. For instance, the 2nd half of Episode 26 is interlaced, while the 1st half and even the ending theme and next episode preview were progressive as usual. I just spent 10 hours on fixing that. (I used yadif with mcdeint, result looks like it was never interlaced tho). This would not be necessary if you re-author the DVD. This way you could even make a nice English menu and/or re-author to DVD5 without losing quality. ;-)
@pukulan10jurus Hi, I really like these releases of the dragon box and think they're close to perfect. I truly think this will be the definitive highest quality version to watch Dragon Ball, Z, GT(?) for all versions of the show. The inclusion of the different dubs, subtitles with even the broadcast audio on here allows every fan to enjoy the series in such good untouched dragon box quality and especially people like me who like multiple versions of the show. From what I can tell the one thing I would think to improve besides nitpicks is the video quality to make this perfect. I don't understand in this enough but I've seen other releases having better video quality, especially in an untouched ISO of the original show which really makes DB come to life. I really hope you find a way to keep improving the quality (first release it all ;)) just like you did with this re-release to get it as close as possible to the original. Because having the series in the highest possible quality will make this release PERFECT (like cell). Regardless, keep doing what you're doing. Even if it takes a long time to release the whole show, It's worth it. Thank you so much for this amazing project!
¡Excellent release my friend! ¡please keep going! ¿When will you release the rest of the sagas and series? ¿Can you release the Dragon Ball GT TV Special?

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
@GohanMatures: As stated in the post right above yours, you could always re-author the actual DVD's with the extra tracks if you want ultra perfection, but truth be told, I'm too lazy for that myself right now. But you can do some awesome stuff with DVDLab or something. @pelaez_camilo36: I can give no ETA on the next release. We are all human beings with jobs. The GT Special, we've finished for a while, but I just discovered a superior deinterlacing method, so it will probably be re-done in a better version.
Ok my friend, I understand, of course, I'll be looking forward to the next releases, thank you for your time and for releasing this project in the best quality ever, can you please give me the link where I can find the Dragon Ball GT TV Special that you already released?

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
I haven't released it yet. But deinterlacing was done very bad. (probably because of the lack of mcdeint combined with the ghosting issues the source has) I think DBNL's is better than my old one. Also, I heard something about an Italian BluRay with superior video and audio. Will look into that too. Please wait untill I reach the GT series. The GT Special and OVA1 are actually very bad on the Dragon Box. (ghosting and poor framerate conversion)
Don't worry my friend, of course I will wait for all your releases, thank you once again for your time and for such a wonderful job, god bless.
Yeah, I think the best thing to do is wait for Pendekar, but in the meantime if you really want the GT special, here's something for you: https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1061632 However, I don’t know if the uploader used any unwanted filters or cropped the image, so watch out for that. @Pendekar: According to GTeam (see here: https://nyaa.iss.one/view/929606), there is the same problem for the OP of episodes 27-51 as well. Seriously, did toei even care when they were releasing this franchise?! No color correction, not using available audio masters for GT, and now this... And they have the audacity to sell these Dragon Boxes for a fortune. Also, dunno about the Italian BluRay, but there's a Mexican one here: https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1060808 I hear it's only an upscale, and it looks worse than the DVD tho. And do check the link I gave to pelaez_camilo36 (this: https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1061632). I'm not keen-eyed so I can't really tell, but you can check to see if there's still the ghosting and framerate issue in the video. If not, then you can use it as a base for your video in order to facilitate your task. You already have your hands full with the audio sync, and now you have to get through these video issues as well. Wish you strength bro.
Thank you for the link SoulBurner, this will do while I wait for Pendekar's releases since his quality is the best, in the meantime I'll keep waiting! ??
I wanna make a correction: the subs for Funimation's release of the original Dragon Ball weren't translated by Simmons, they were done by Clyde Mandelin. I think Simmons did a couple episodes during the Tenkaichi Budoukai saga, but that's it. The telltale sign of who did them is that Simmons uses "Kami", while Mandelin just straight-up uses "God".

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
@SoulBurner: TOEI, or more accurately, Pony Canyon did care when they made the Boxes, but in the end of the day they're just regular human beings too, you know. And there is an even worse problem. DB episode 52 has the negatives somewhat misplaced, after which about 10 episodes are slightly out of sync. Not using the GT masters was sheer lazyness, but not doing the color "correction", as you call it, was actually a good decision. Aside from the fact that the DBox colors aren't off as much as some people claim, the main reason here, is that it's impossible to correctly adjust the colors to their original state without either editing each frame one by one or severely messing up video quality, especially during fast action scenes. Not something you would want on Dragon Ball, right? So the only way would be to once again back to the original negatives, giving them a (more carefully done telecine and a) real remaster. And do you expect people who don't use the GT masters out of lazyness to edit a series as big as Dragon Ball framy-by-frame? I mean, the 1080 Web DL's of the movies look and sound a lot worse than the Dragon Boxes. (although the BluRay's might be different) Your link is just a french remux of Gteam's release. The Italian BR and DVD turned out to be totally crap. We were fooled lol. It has the same ghosting issues as the Dbox, where it was very obviously upscaled from, and looked even worse than our new rip, done with both yadif and mcdeint. But I think we're going to have to accept that GT Special and Z OVA 1 always will have ghosting issues, and untouched Dbox will probably always stay the best source. Sync for the GT special, on the other hand, is finished already, as we will be keep using the same source, only encoded a lot better. For the rest, maybe it would be cool to make a list of all the shortcomings of the boxes, as a guide for other encoders.

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
@MistaL: I do vaguely remember something like that happenning, but still, I can't recall ever seeing a original release with the better "God" translation. Every release I know of uses "Kami", aside from an awfully bad English subbed Chinese Dragon Box. On a side note, didn't they do it again to Simmons with Z and GT? Having someone make minor adjustments, then having them take full credit for the subs? I believe the awfull Chinese names for the Dragon Balls like "Siu Xing Qiu" instead of just "Four-star Ball" were famous examples of that.
You are too nice lol. While you think they cared, all I see is the complete opposite. At the end of the day, toei is the one who approves of everything, and the fact that they didn't even double-check the sets before commercializing it is disrespectful according to me. And about the color correction issue (and yes it is an issue, the sky is supposed to be blue, not green or pink!!), frame by frame editing would have been the solution here, and you should know this more than me: they actually did a frame by frame restoration to remove dirt & scratches from the film, and also to stabilize the frame. Not doing any color correction while they were at it is pure laziness, and once AGAIN disrespecful!! Seriously, I don't think this should even be a debate, toei has a track record on this kind of uncaring behavior, I mean hell, remember when they gave the first half of Dragon Ball Super to a team of newbies to animate, and as a result of this the art got so bad even Toriyama was mad about it. Doing such a thing to one of their most popular and profitable franchise is not only uncaring and idiotic, it's also (you should know it by now) DISRESPECTFUL. There are problems and closing our eyes do not make them disappear, but I do realize things could have been worse. I just hope toei does justice with this franchise regarding whatever they do with it next, not only for the fans, but mainly out of respect for this franchise. And this sucks, I thought that french release could have helped you, and looks like the italian BluRay will not be of any help either. So, seems like you'll have to again work overtime to try fix things. Don't worry, I'll bring the late night snacks. :P
@pukulan10jurus Give me your private contact address. And thanks for your great efforts for doing this for DB fans. Keep it up.

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
@SoulBurner: Well, Funimation's releases are much worse, so I'm quite happy with them. But I do think you underestimate the time and effort that would be required to do a frame-by-frame remaster of the colors. And Pony Canyon's frame-by-frame remaster wasn't perfect either. There's still lots of jitter left. On a side note, somewhere on the extras of the Dragon Box is a untouched version of the opening, if you want to know the exact difference. But, sure, I would love it if they would do a newer, and better remaster. Don't see it happening tho. The new GT Special encode is very nice, you can't tell it was ever interlaced at all. The ghosting still remains tho. Don't think it will get any better then this. Need to check if the 3 English dubs are still sync to this encode, then it's done. @SonGokuDB: just add "@gmail.com" to my username here.
Well of course funimation's releases would be worse since toei used to always give them second-rate sources to work with. This is something so ridiculous to do, I might start banging my head against the wall by just thinking about it. Funimation is no better than toei tho, and have fucked up many times. Fortunately, they seem to learn from their mistakes, even if it takes a shit ton of time for them to even realize what they did wrong. The thing here is that funimation can help in bringing the Dragon Ball franchise to territories Japan would normally not venture in. This is how a partnership works, but seems like toei either views their own partner as competition, or they have an ego problem. Fortunately tho, looks like toei has started to change it's mindset since they eventually gave the Dragon Box masters to funimation. They are also working together for the new Broly movie, and as a result, the movie is getting an international release only one month after it's original theatrical release. Now, could you imaging how awesome it would be if they would always work together like that? Just imagine, my homies!! Lastly, just like I said; you are too nice. However, unlike you, I don't forgive easily. My reasoning is simple; If you do something, you either do it right, or you don't do it at all. Doing a half-assed job is disrespectful (Just how many times did I said that word? :P), especially considering they have all the tools and expertise to work with. However, I do admit I'm starting to see positive things, especially after toei announced they will have a departmant exclusively for Dragon Ball, and all the updates we've been getting, not just about the new movie or other future projects, but in their approach going forward. Fingers crossed. Can't wait to see your next releases, I can already tell they will be glorious!!
@pukulan10jurus Do you by any chance know if the Dragon Box Sets you're using have any quality difference from the Individual Discs Toei released later on? Are they identical or do they have any sort of differences? If you're going for optimal quality, I'd suggest taking a quick look on them just to confirm it. Just a friendly advice. http://www.kanzenshuu.com/home-video/jp/

The Dragon Boxes are the same as the individual releases (for all 3 series), although there is a DVD that features both DBZ TV Specials, which has slightly better video, but slightly worse audio. Let's wait and see if those BR's are any good. I've seen some BluRays that were taken straight from Dragon Box, encoded even worse than we do, like the Italian GT Special BluRay. Also, let's see how the movie BluRays sell. Toei might do a BR release of the series too if they make much off the movies. Our shipment of the movies BluRays was delayed. Damn, was so curious to see how they are! :-(
Does that mean that you're puttng the DBOX project on hold untill/if Toei releases those rumored newly remastered BR?

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
No. No. No no no. Noooo! Neh. First of all, it is said in the article it might take them several years to complete. (Which might not even happen, like with the Level Sets). Second, they might not be any good, like I said, there's lots of bad BluRays around. But most importantly, we want to just finish these Dragon Box rips, and move on to the other series and finish those, and see from there. Maybe by that time, TOEI is doing something themselves. And if so, syncing subs/dubs should go a lot smoother... ;-) That being said, working on syncing Speedy dub for DB movie 4 now, and it's actually the easiest Speedy to sync. Should be able to release both a Dbox update with the newly surfaced Speedy's AND include them on new BDRips... :D
Sweet!! :) Can't wait for next batch to come out! Any possible ETA by any chance? Can we expect it within the month?
@Pendekar and anyone who might be interested: Recently AnimeMaakuo has been releasing lots of stuff. You guys might wanna check it out! Oh, and if you do, make sure to prepare your HDD. https://nyaa.iss.one/user/AnimeMaakuo
Also, I want to point something out. On the OP Theme song it says: "Let's try try try" at first and then "Let's fly fly fly". It's incorrect on the subs. What source did you use for the subs?

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
@SoulBurner: It's all DBZ and mostly audio stuff. Not interested right now. First we will focus on DB before tackling anything else. Project takes long enough as it is. @Yusei573: I could give you an ETA, but it wouldn't mean jack. I've never successfully met a deadline once in my life lolz. I can only say that we're at Episode 22 or 23 now, but that most of our team's people are very busy men. Also, the finishing touches are being made to a new torrent of the movies and specials, which might be finished at about the same time. Huh?! Again? Yes, this time one torrent for all movies and specials (including movies 14 and 15 and the OVA's which were re-ripped from BluRay as opposed to PS3 and Xbox360, and all interlaced sourced were deinterlaced in a much superior way), and also adding the newly surfaced Speedy dubs to said movies. Not only to update the Dragon Box rips, but this was also done with the BluRays in mind, of which we just received the first batch. Both video and audio is extremely superior to the Web-DL's. Audio is even better than Dragon Box audio, and I haven't seen any grain yet. Covers suck a little, tho. But this will make for a nice re-re-re-release when all BluRays are out in Januari. So, in preparation of that we kinda divide our attention over both those things. The opening... I think I told you this before once, but the singer actually sings what being subbed. You could say that the subs follow what the singer sings. He probably just misread his line, or the on screen Japanese text is wrong. Either way, I tend to mess with the subtitles as little as possible. I only mess with severe mistranslations and things like changing "Kami" to "God" and such. Although this is being discussed within the team, and opinions on the matter are shifting, don't expect any changes untill the batch release of the entire series. And this one will stay, as it's actually more correct...

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
Oh, and the source of the subs, as mentioned in this topic right below a question of yours, was Utsukushii's release, who took them from ADC's subbed Dragon Box releases. They are the normal Funimation Singles subs, but with a different font, and Japanese karaoke and Next Episode Preview subs added. We had to translate some missing NEP's (31-71) ourself. DBZ subs will be taken straight from the Funimation Dragon Box (which Utsukushii did too), as they already have NEP subtitles for all episodes (even 291's preview of GT is subtitled if you extract it's subtitle stream) and stupid Japanese karaoke texts, and GT's subs will be taken from the Funimation singles, as they also have NEP subtitles.
@pukulan10jurus: What do you think about DBZ Movie 5 BD? I just saw pictures, but unfortunately looks awful. I'm afraid the Dragon Box is better than the new BD release. :(

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
Haven't checked that one out yet. Will do that soon. I was afraid of this lol. What I've seen so far is gorgeous tho.

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
Movie 5 indeed appears somewhat washed. It's starting to feel like TOEI does it on purpose lol.
But do you think it's better than Dragon Box?

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
I personally think it is. The amount of grain is much lower and the (PCM!!) audio is much better. It's just that movie 5 isn't perfect. Everything else I've seen so far is. My opinion of the BluRays: I had a feeling they were going to be just as bad as the WebDL's, with the grain and the bad sound. I was both very happy and very surprised that this wasn't the case, compared to Dragon Box, the grain is about 80-85% lower, and the audio is about 30% better, and they have all the extra's their Dragon Box counterparts have in Full HD. And yes, this means the creditless openings and endings for movies 3 and 6 are watchable now, although you can still tell there was some zooming done. The video: Watching the movies you will barely notice any grain whatsoever, BUT, I'm very sorry to say, that you will notice some extreme/weird contrasts, and it feels a bit off watching DBZ this way. Is it just the new level of quality? Maybe, but for instance, in movie 1, when God appears before Garlick, the contrast of the shadows on his arm looks very "forced", and looks much more natural on a Dragon Box, probably because of the upscaling. Although quality difference is so extreme that when I first opened a movie and saw TOEI's "waves and rocks" logo, and then saw it on Dragon Box, I had to laugh upon seeing it on Dragon Box. Colors are also a little different from the Dragon Box. I'd say these colors are perfect, but the "Color Correction Crew" will not agree, of course, although they will say that these are "at least a little better". So my final verdict: Is it better than Dragon Box and therefore the best release so far? Yes. Is it perfect? No. I'd wish they were perfect, but they aren't. They do belong in your collection though, right above your Dragon Boxes...

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

https://i.postimg.cc/6qBShmRF/shot0005.png A screenshot demonstrating the God thing. The lines on that padding on his left arm were turned a little lighter, as if they were drawn with crayon. This effect doesn't appear on Dragon Box, where the overall image looks warmer, and more natural. But as you can see, you do get awesome quality in return. Here are the movie 1 extra's to give you an idea. Would send the entire movie, but it's still being worked on, aside from being 8GB lol... https://we.tl/t-QXD81YRYwY
Thank you very much! OMG! It's beautiful! And your PGS subtitle is very good! I can't wait for the 508 + 3 TV episodes in full HD! I hope the syncing of subs and dubs not complicated. :)

pukulan10jurus (uploader)

User
Uhm, nobody confirmed doing all 3 series yet, least of all TOEI. Would be nice tho. As far as syncing goes, only Speedy Dub is ever truly hard. I will do them all over from scratch (probably except Speedy) from the original source, both as to prevent quality loss as much as possible, and for a better sync. I've gotten a lot better at it since I did the Dragon Box Movies sync.
~~~~~ Yes, Dragon Box audio is better in every single way. ~~~~~ The muffled Dbox audio is apparently better in every way over the Broadcast audio, that's quite something. But thank you for your uploads. Really appreciate them. ^_^
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Nice bait! Almost took it lol. And while your comment is my personal opinion, we were comparing to Funimation singles, by the way.
Unfortunately, now it has turned out that this is the worst Japanese DB home video release ever. The fans hate it because of censorship (and DNR). Dragon Box is still the best. :)
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Huh?! What are you talking about? You are commenting on a Dragon Box release... If you are talking about fat Gogeta's middle finger on the recently released BluRay... I wouldn't call it the worst release ever (I live in Big Green territory, so I've seen much, much worse), but yeah, our team is pretty upset about it too. Movie 5 and the extras get no love. I haven't seen any instances where the noise reduction ruins it all yet, (unless that's the main culprit of movie 5 looking so washed) but I have only checked movie 1 thoroughly yet. (We are re-syncing all dubs on them from scratch. At least we put some love in there, lol) Actually, when I was planning to announce here that we would start over once more, I was planning on dropping the Dragon Box Movies releases, as I thought the BluRays totally outclassed them, but unfortunately, they don't. So Dragon Boxes still have use. Hey, at least movie 8 looks awesome! Anyways, because everyone loves the new subtitles style we use for the movies so much, many requests for subtitle fixes, and a new way of syncing I discovered, among others, we will be starting all over again one last time. Next batch will probably be a Dragon Box Movies update, followed by these fanbase-dividing BluRays. When this saga re-releases it will have a slightly better synced Funi dub and much nicer subtitles, QC'ed, as you guys call it, this time. VobSub will be replaced with PGS and it will look identical to the new style in the .ass subs. Also, we're working on Arale R2J Subbed DVDrips, under a new side group name "Pink Poo". It's basicly Pendekar sans 3 teammembers. Episode 001 and Movie 01 of that should be online in a couple of days. God, it helps not having to sync dubs. Sorry for making you all wait, but it will be better. We will always regret this if we don't do it. But we want to do it right this time, hence it takes a little longer. And we got mislead by the BluRays too.
Yeah, sorry, I'm talking about the BluRay, because I commented about them here 3 weeks ago. :) Unfortunately, BD is a big disappointment, the Dragon Box remained the best release. Thanks a lot for everything!
Well, I chose to not let one middle finger and movie 5 get the best of me, but like I said, our team is kinda pissed off too. I do think it's better than Dragon Box tho. Movie 5 and one middle finger against the rest... I'll go apeshit if they mess up DB movie 4 too, but like I said, Dragon Box still has value.
love your releases so far, have every one of them :) i have but one request, if its at all possible could you please not abandon the blue water dub, ive been looking for it for years, otherwise thanks a million its been quite the pleasure rewatching this series
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Well, the thing is, that dub is a real pain in the arse. We thought about it for a long time before dropping it, but it took so much time syncing that dub. And with some episodes, we didn't even succeed. Episodes 5, 9, and everything after 122 are examples I know of episodes that are practicly unsyncable. Also, those episodes have horrific audio quality. Announcer sounds like he's on speed, and it's full of ticks. We tried every syncing method in the book, but all of them required us to cut/add audio about every 30 seconds. At the time, I asked for experienced syncers many times, and all that reported admitted that Blue Water might be a bit too much. At that point it was decided we would drop the Blue Water, and maybe add it later with a batch release or something, after everything else is done. I would be willing to keep including it if somebody else syncs it, but it's about the worst thing to sync ever. You would have to be like the god of syncers. The sources' fps was adjusted in a very weird way, with no way to figure out the original fps due to it's censored nature. And even if you do, you can expect still having to make an edit about every 30 seconds. So, unless you are the God of all Syncers, I'm afraid it's not happening. It would actually be a lot easier to sync Dragon Box video to the audio. I think some people did a few episodes that way. I could even teach you how to do it. That might be actually doable if you got some love for that dub. I'd be happy to pass you the sources. It's the ones from the old piratebay Blue Water and Ocean torrent.
ive never attempted to sync video to audio but if you walk me through how to do it ill give it a shot, but id imagine if its a nightmare for you guys its probably way over my head, i would however very much appreciate it if you would send me the source i have been looking everywhere and have not been able to find it
Thanks for your hard work! I will definitely look forward to your next release.
Are you going to re-do DBZ movies too or is it just Dragon ball series?
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
The movies will get an update with the new subs and the new Speedy Dubs. Not sure yet if any other improvements will be made. Some audios maybe could have been synced a little better, but... Then there's the BluRays, which are currently being worked on. For those, everything will be done from scratch, except OCRing the subs. All English audios will be totally resynced now, much better then the sync for Dragon Box, and taken straight from original source, being encoded only once for syncing purposes. No borrowing from other groups and lossy to lossy encoded audio anymore. Except maybe BLT and Harmony Gold. They were a PITA. I'll try to do my best lol. Too bad the BluRays sync a little different from Dragon Boxes. When syncing the Big Green Dub, which still has the spots in the upper right corner like they used to have in the theaters on their original source video, I noticed that it's always at those spots were the syncing edits need to be made, so it's more than likely because of spool changes from analog source.
do you plan on utilizing laserdisc audio from theAnimeMaakuo dump
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Neh, Blu-Ray audio is beautiful, I highly doubt LaserDisc is any better.
i was just curious, remember reading somewhere that it has a seperate channel for the soundtrack, didnt know bluray upped the audio quality thats awsome
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
That's true. Awesome feature of the LaserDiscs. BluRay audio is about 1/3rd better than Dragon Box audio. But never forget, for the movies, original master audios were still around and were used. The movies always had fine audio on Japanese home releases. When you hear someone complaining about the sound of Dragon Boxes, they are most likely talking about the series, not the movies.
o thats right, the series were the ones where the audio came from the waveform on the film reel correct?
Thank you for this awesome quality! I will seed this as long I have space in my computer. Can't wait for more ^^
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
@Annhilater1985: Yes, exactly. For GT, they also still have the masters, but for some reason (probably ease of production) they chose to not use it and produce the GT boxes the same way they did DB and DBZ. @gwarp: Surely I hope you'll update to the new version when it releases.
There's the echo in the voice in 5.1 English. Is that on purpose?
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
For instance, In episode 1 seek to 4:37, you'll hear it.
Although after checking some other episodes I couldn't find it in any of them, maybe It's just in the first episode. When Goku speaks, you can hear an echo-like sound effect.
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Hmmm, it doesn't happen to me. Maybe your surround isn't configured properly? Or maybe you are downmixing, and that's what causing it? How are you watching them?
Well, I'm watching it through MPC-HC and listening from my headphones. Apparently, It happens only in the first episode. I also checked in another batch that I have and It's the same case with that one too. Weird.
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Headphones -->> Means you're downmixing (unless you have 5.1 headphones). Take a look at your downmixing settings. It doesn't happen to me with the same player on 2.1 speakers or on a BD player with an actual surround set. Also, we applied no filters or anything to the audio and only encoded the audio once, for resyncing, so it's probably like that on the original Blue Brick too. If other groups have it too, that's just proof of that.
"Also, we applied no filters or anything to the audio and only encoded the audio once, for resyncing, so it’s probably like that on the original Blue Brick too. If other groups have it too, that’s just proof of that." That's exactly what I think now that I've heard it in another batch. And even using headphones(downmixing) I've got no problems with other episodes except that first one of course. Sorry about the confusion. I watched all the old releases of Dragon ball episodes and I must say that the sound quality of this new release is much better even after downmixing. Also, have you checked out iKaos release of Dragon Ball Z? His work is quite similar to yours and I was curious about your opinion on that release.
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Yeah, our old releases just used DBNL's 2.0 audio. This time we ripped the 5.1 directly from the Blue Bricks. I haven't checked iKaos' work, but I do remember the dude. I'm not a fan of the Level Sets, personally, tho. But like us, he's just sharing what he perceives to be best. I wish him good luck on his projects.
He has started using Dragon Box Episodes now. Apparently, Funimation had stopped producing Level Sets after only 39 Episodes. I wish I never have seen the Level Sets because, for me personally, they are of the best quality and Now, I can't have them for other sagas and that sucks!
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
I know. The quality is indeed great, and unlike the finished 16:9 BluRays, they actually had a somewhat decent HD upscale. Unfortunately, they did something to the colors, which makes small color differences hard to see. A crack on Nappa's black armor is a fine example of that. It's still the best BluRay of the series tho. When the Japanese started releasing BluRays for the movies and aired the Bardock Special on HDTV, I started thinking that it might be possible that a Japanese BluRay of the series might be on the way. But by now, I don't care anymore. The movies' BluRays also had something done to the colors, unfortunately, giving it a yellow-ish hue. You'll see soon... ;-) The Japanese who bought them even get their money back because all the middle fingers were turned into fists, while claiming being untouched on the cover. So, even if we were to get a Jap BD for the series, it would probably be middle-fingerless and yellow-ish, I'm afraid... So, to me the Dragon Box still stands triumphant over all other releases, but I would agree, Level Sets are second best.
I agree with you on the colors in Level Sets, those colors could definitely have been better. Although, the reason I like the Level Sets is because of the details in the animation compared to Dragon Box and especially to Blu-ray version, and of course because it's uncropped, unlike the Bu-ray version. And I definitely agree with you on the Jap BD, they went too far in the editing process. The colors are way too warm, I can't think why would they do something like that. So that leaves us with Dragon Box, of course. I can't wait for your version of the series, It will be a long time for me to be able to have the perfect version available out there. Right now, you and iKaos are my only hope. I don't know what I would do without you two guys. LOL By the way, Is there any estimate on the release of Tenkaichi Budokai Saga?
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
No estimate, as that isn't even our next release. Next up will be either an update of this saga with nicer subs and a slightly better synced Funi dub, an update of the movies with the same and the newly surfaced Speedy Dubs (DB Movies 2 and 4 and DBZ Movies 11 and 13. DB Movie 1 is just BLT), or the BluRay-rips. After the update of this saga, it should come really quick, tho, as I discovered a faster way of syncing which produces perfect results. (Syncing the Japanese track from the brick to the Dbox in Audacity, write down all edits, and apply them to the English 5.1 track and the subs from the brick, then deleting that horrendous Japanese audio from the Bricks) So the only thing I can tell you is that the process is a lot faster now. Unfortunately, this method can't be used with VHS and VCD sourced dubs like Speedy and Harmony Gold, so we're kinda occupied with the Dbox Movies update and the BluRays right now. For DB Movie 1, for instance, I had to watch it 8 times in the last 2 days to check both the BD and Dbox syncs. Can be kinda mind-numbing lol. And then there's still real life... So it could take a while. But we are working on all that pretty hard right now.
"I had to watch it 8 times in the last 2 days to check both the BD and Dbox syncs" Whoa man, and I had the nerve to think, at first, that it's taking a long time. I never felt more grateful than I do now. You take your time bud. And again, thank you so much for your awesome work! It was nice talking to you.
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
> It was nice talking to you. You make it sound like I'm dead lol.
I just realized that LMAO.
@pukulan10jurus: o_O there will be a new version and you will redo all of them? AMAZING! I'm so looking forward to it ^^
Thanks for syncing the Blue Water to the Dragon Box source.
The ManifestX version of Dragon Ball Blue Water dub sounds really good to me but dunno if that'll ever reach 100%, the known rips do have pretty bad sound quality so they're barely usable.
@pukulan10jurus Hey man! What's up? It's bern a while so I wanted to ask you some questions regarding your projects and upcoming releases since all new sources are popping up every day! I apologize in advance if any of these questions have been asked and/or answered before. It's just that there is a storm of comments and you can get lost easily. :P 1) From my understanding you're gonna redo the movies and the first saga of DB with new subs, techniques and sources and that's soo excellent to hear! I assume the main video source will still be Dragon Boxes? 2) Selecta Vision has announced that they will be releasing brand new BD remasters for the original Dragon Ball series this year, that they have been working on for the past two years. It will be the first official BD release worldwide! Their premise looks really promising! IF it proves to be superior to the Dragon Boxes (even if it turns out a well processed upscale) will you replace the DBox with their BDs? https://www.hobbyconsolas.com/noticias/dragon-ball-serie-original-llegara-blu-ray-espana-selecta-vision-324353 (Use a translator) 3) As you may have heard, Funimation (in collaboration with Toei) will be releasing brand new 4:3 BD remasters of DBZ (most probably this year). My question is the same as well. IF those new remasters turn out to be superior to the Dragon Boxes, will you replace them? 4) Do you plan on including ALL available uncut and edited dubs on DB and DBZ (I'm referring to the series not the movies)?
5) Have you perhaps regiven it any thought to please encode your BD releases on 10-bit instead of 8-bit? It would be preferred for the BD releases as it provides smoother encoding and best visual results! 6) Will you include .srt, .ass and vob subs or just .ass? Though you have answered that before, but I couldn't find the said comment. Why do you include three types if subs? Wouldn't it be better to just have .ass subs as most archive releases out there? Just a suggestion. 7) After you're done with the three main original series, do you have any plans on doing Super? I definitely want to archive your releases of Super in the future! It would be much easier and faster to do Super first and then Kai imo. Thank you very much for your time and hard work and I will be looking forward for your response! :)
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
@Super_Saiyan_Lusitano: Uhm, we dropped Blue Water... After Episode 4 we stop including it. @Yusei573: 1. Indeed 2. Neh. Their GT Blu-Rays obviously used Dragon Box as source. LMFAO 3. If they're any good, we might encode them, but will still finish Dragon Box encodes. 4. Not sure what you mean here. For DB, it will be just Jap, BLT, and Funi, for Z it will be Jap, Ocean, Funi Single, and Funi Brick or Blu-Ray (I know there are differences but we will pick just one.) For GT it will be Jap, single, and brick. 5. Neh. It would render the result useless to me, as I wouldn't be able to watch it on my home theater, and also, the Blu-Rays we've encoded so far (all Japanese movies, including 14 and 15) were all plain 8-bit on disc. Pointless to encode a 8-bit source to 10-bit. And compatibility with consoles/hardware would drop a lot. 6. I include the 3 subs so everyone can enjoy it. The .srt is for people who watch on consoles/hardware that doesn't support .ass. VobSub will be replaced by PGS and will now reflect our edits and much requested QC. 7. As much as I hate everything Super except Broly and some parts of Universe 6 and TOP, we'll still do it. If we're not like a 100 years old by then, that is.
@pukulan10jurus Ah, your responses have been very enlighting! Thank you very much!! Also, I've been meaning to ask, what is your personal preference on watching DB and DBZ? Like what specific video source and which specific audios would you include and what specific subs (.ass, srt or pgs) would you choose on an archive release you'd collect? Your releases include mostly everything to satisfy the fans, but I'd like to know about your preference. For example, your prefer the DBox audio instead of the BA but you include the latter nonetheless to satisfy those who want it right? That's what I'd like to ask. What would your ideal release include in terms of video, audios and subs sources?
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Like you said, I try to include as much as possible. And it also depends where it's being watched on. For instance, on my PC, .ass looks best, while on my BluRay Player or Jailbroken PS3, PGS looks better, as .ass loses its styling somewhat, and on my TV, only SRT is displayed properly at all. I like my releases to resemble official releases as much as possible, which is why the font we switched to (Franklin Gothic Medium) resembles the Funimation singles font so much. If we're talking about new stuff (Battle of Gods and beyond) I prefer it exactly the way we released it. Japanese Blu-Ray sources and all audios copied str8 from source without encoding in either PCM or DTS(-MA), and subs in PGS. Preferably watched on a re-authored Blu-Ray with no quality loss. If we're talking about old stuff (DB/Z/GT), the answer seems pretty obvious. Again, the way we released it. Dragon Box Video and Audio (unencoded audio in AC3), and in terms of subs, I want "God" instead of "Kami". Best enjoyed on a re-authored DVD with no quality loss. Then there's the dream of that ultimate Blu-Rays for DB/Z/GT, but after the movies, I accepted that it will never happen, and even if it does, TOEI will butch it. The colors and the quality of movie 5 don't disturb me as much as it does most, but the censoring and DB Movie's 4 bitrate really hurt my feelings. Dbox will probably always stay as good as it gets.
@pukulan10jurud I see. Wouldn't it be better to completely remove the Blue Water dub from the first 4 episodes you synched since it's gonna stay incomplete? I also support home video audio sources and BW is not so that's why I'd like to please request its removal imo. Same thing with Broadcast audio but I get why it's included. Also, I assume you've heard that the new 4:3 Funi BDs are shit, so there's that.. :(
I was so hesitant to pirate the Dragon Ball series, but after the 30th Aniversary Blu-ray disaster, fuck it. Are you going to be redoing all of the sagas or is it just this one and if so, should I wait to install all of these until you are done?
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
@Yusei573: We're actually not sure on that yet, but we'll probably leave it in, as some kind of bonus, and in case we'll pick it up after everything else is finished. @321GameTime: Everything we've done so far will get re-done. About the 30th anniversary Blu-Rays, I don't live in the USA, so I can't visit the Funimation website or watch the trailer on youtube, but I hear it's not gonna be remastered. Which sucks.
pukulan10jurus, I found your Dragon Ball torrents They're great. Keep up the great work. I wonder if when you get to DBZ, will the torrents use the Dragon Box footage? The problem with the Level sets is, if I'm not mistaken, the opening and ending titles have English text, not to mention no Japanese title cards. Also, avoid the recent Toei Blu-Rays of the movies. They're heavily DNR'd and censored. Finally, I noticed andiandi posting original broadcast audio episodes of the original DB on here, but I can't download the torrents. They're stuck.
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Yeah, of course, we always use Japanese footage, even in the rare case when the Funimation version is better (like with Battle of Gods). Also, the level sets weren't finished and have messed with the colors a bit. We will encode the TOEI Blu-Rays, but that doesn't mean we'll stop seeding our Dragon Box movies and stop updating them. They will be uploaded at about the same time. The DNR is a good thing, tho. Very nicely done. My main problem is that the 2 movies that were supposed to look best (13 and DB movie 4) had a very dissapointing bitrate. I downloaded all of andiandi's stuff a while back. We'll probably include it with our DB re-release.
@pukulan10jurus Ah, after reading some comments I found out that the best way you personally prefer to preserve the series is: • Your JP DBox encodes with untouched JP DVD AC3 audio only and your QC VobSubs • Your JP BDs encodes with untouched JP BD PCM audio only and your QC .PGS subs Is my above pattern accurate? So are you a subs lover and do you prefer vobsubs and .pgs over .ass? Also, will you new releases for movies and the first saga include vobsubs again? Also, something irrelevant. My friend wants to start DB and wants to watch the completed uncut 'canon' anime route so I suggested him JP dubbed ofc: • Dragon Ball (Episodes 1-153) • Dragon Ball Z (Episodes 1-291) • Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks (TV Special) • Dragon Ball Super (Episodes 1-131) • Dragon Ball Super: Broly (Movie) • Dragon Ball Super 2.0 (upcoming TV anime / 132-???) Was I right to do so? Kai is technically a 'cut' or 're cut' of Z so cannot be considered truly uncut.
The first two arcs of Super can be considered an expansion or an uncut retelling of the 2 movies so they should be prefered here (even though the animation of the movies is far better). Some of the events of the first two arcs that are excluded from the movies are later referenced on later arcs so there's that. Bardock: The Father of Goku TV SP in not canon anymore thanks to DBS: Broly. But its flashbacks on some DBZ episodes are. Yo!! Son Goku is NOT canon to Super as Tarble is referenced on the BoG movie and NOT the arc. Episode of Bardock is a non canon what if story. As well as all the other movies and OVAs. GT is a non-canon great 'side story' according to Toriyama. GT and the movies are in a different dimension/timeline from the main one which is the above one. The only thing that's troubling me is if I should include the Dead Zone movie on the main timeline or not. Akira Toriyama stated that all the original DB and DBZ movie are side stories of a different dimension, but on the other hand we have the Garlic Jr. Saga. Dead Zone can't happen for various reason and can't fit properly soooooo I was thinking of including the Garlic Jr. Saga only with ONLY its anime saga flashbacks of Dead Zone as canon. That's my take on this. What are your thoughts on all of these? :P Do you agree with my thinking?
I managed to gain access to episodes 40 and 41 from the original broadcast. To my surprise, both of them had "special previews" (first half, next episode, second half, movie lottery drawing). So this confirms that the original series did them, too. I wonder if you can do a recreation of these "special previews" whenever possible? I was really impressed with your recreation of the Trunks Special/DBZ Movie 8 Lottery Ticket preview.
@pukulan10jurus is there a blog somewhere i can stay up to date ? or just this comment section ?
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
@Yusei573: Neh, the movies are much, much better. And they're actually canon. Bardock never was canon, except for that one panel in the manga. Yo! Son Goku itself isn't canon, but Tarble is. Not only is the BoG movie 100% canon, Tarble is also mentioned in Broly, in exactly the same way. There is one special that is canon tho, TV Special 2. That actually happened, although "true" canon never showcased that story in such detail. Garlic Jr is filler, hence both Movie 1 and that saga are not canon. The Afterlife Tournament is also filler. But I think we all already knew that. @vnisanian2001: It's not very high on my priority list, and most of them have unique title cards and such. Also, it was a PITA. I did translate all of them for someone tho. I think the guy even uploaded them here somewhere. On the other hand, I did do all the other missing previews, like Dr. Slump Episode 243's preview of DB Episode 001 and DB Episode 153's preview of DBZ Episode 001. DBZ Episode 291's preview of GT Episode 01 didn't need any recreation, as it was on the extras of the GT Dragon Box, and subs for it are on the subtitle track of Z Episode 291 on the USA Dragon Box. Of course, all were also put back in the episodes themselves. @LeonVIII: No. But maybe that's actually a good idea. I will consider creating one.
Consider a discord server
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
what's that?
Gonna copy/paste from Wiki because I realized I don't know how to explain it properly. "Discord is a proprietary freeware VoIP application and digital distribution platform designed for video gaming communities, that specializes in text, image, video and audio communication between users in a chat channel." So basically a chat room for people interested in your efforts + progress. I admit that I'm also one of those people who visit this huge thread about 3 times a week just to see how things are going. But I'd rather not keep asking you for progress updates because writing stuff here takes time away from your project work. Not that you work 24/7 on it but still...
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Wouldn't a regular blog be much easier? Don't see the need for audio, video, or chat.
You could only use it as a text chat / blog of sorts (same as this almost 200-long comment section). You can just make simple text posts (announcements) when you want to write up something that you want us to know. Then just have a basic text chat room for the "fans" who want to discuss Dragon Ball in general, throw around ideas or make queries. The best part is that you don't have to maintain the server itself in any way. Just create an account, create a server and share the link here and then people will start pouring in. You can also assign moderators for the server if you want help with creating different text channels for project ideas, general talk, DBZ talk, off-topic etc. In my opinion, it's much faster and easier for you than creating a whole blog site with a layout and all that jazz. Discord is quite handy.
I went and created a private Discord server as a test for you to see. Can I send you the invite link as an e-mail? The server is not final or anything so we can delete it as easily as I created it. You will decide the final name and everything if the platform pleases you. It seems there's also the possibility to remove the text channels. So it could be just a channel for your announcements (a blog) if you want it that way. I just thought you'd like a text channel for people to comment on so they won't flood your comment threads here with 200+ comments, haha! :)
@ dubmo sooo are we gonna get a link to that discord or what
@Annhilater1985 I was going to show it to pukulan10jurus first and see what he thinks. But I have a feeling that he has his sights on a blog site instead. Whatever works for him is the best way to go about it.
It's not that I'm not willing. It's just that about half our team is experiencing personal problems/birthday hell, as my family has a major birthday at least once every week right now/having a new job/etc. We're just busy, and short on free time, that's all. Which is also why we haven't released stuff in a while, and won't for some time... :-( So I'm looking for the easiest thing lol.
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
I think our next release will be the Jap BD-Rip of Broly. (Assuming it won't be green, otherwise it will be MangaUK BD or the Dutch BD, depending on what's better. I fear the Jap BD will be green tho, given TOEI's track record) We already ordered the Jap 2-Disc, the MangaUK one, and the Dutch one. So at least we'll have some choices lol. > I was going to show it to pukulan10jurus first and see what he thinks. But I have a feeling that he has his sights on a blog site instead. Whatever works for him is the best way to go about it. I appreciate this. I will look into it when I find some time.
pukulan10jurus (uploader)
User
Found some time to look into it. Discord is too much of a hassle, if you ask me. I seriously doubt we have enough fans for a chatting service just about us. I do feel flattered tho, lol. I've settled on a Wix blog, keeping it simple. In fact, it's already done for like 90%. I've combined this with us chosing a new group name, which will be revealed along with our blog and our first release under said name soon. The release will be the DB (PSA) TV Specials with new subs that are both re-timed where necessary, slightly improved, restyled, and "Steve Simmons-ised" as we call this in our team, to be more in line with other releases. Why the new group name? There are several reasons for this. The main one being there are copycats on here releasing stuff we don't want to be associated with, and the nyaa staff wasn't inclined to take action. Then, I've been regretting the Pendekar name for some time now, as I found it both a little too arrogant even for me (it's Indonesian and translates to something like "Style-leading Grandmaster"), and to irrelevant to our encodes, as we don't sub in Indonesian (as much as I would like to do so, it's enough work doing what we do already). Then there's the fact we've improved our skills a lot too, so it feels right. There hasn't been much progress since my last post, as I've been really busy, and probably will stay so for some time, but our blog would enable us to release the BD-Rips of the movies one by one instead of batching them, so at least you would get them as they are completed...
I wouldn't use the Blurays for the movies, since Toei censored them. I'd use the webrips, or if you really want the slightly higher bitrate offered by the blurays I'd edit the two sources together to uncensor those specific scenes.
We're both updating the Dragon Box-rips and ripping the Blu-Rays. We did consider putting those middle fingers back, but then we'd have to DNR those parts, which is kinda tough. And it's enough work as it is. Also, untouched kinda is our thing.
Which movies censored the middle fingers anyway? I know one of the Broly ones, were there any others? Just need to know what not to download when the time comes d:
Fat Gogeta also did one to Janemba.
@pukulan10jurus can you upload the blu-ray rips from the toei remasters?They're VERY hard to find.(OR the BDMVs)
do not waste your time here.check for their last upload.
We're still working on them. We haven't even finished one of them yet. DB Movie 01 is almost done. It's BLT Dub sync isn't perfect yet. It's watchable tho, so not sure yet. We might just leave it. Turns out the BD's are edited slightly different in places where those spots used to occur in the top right corner on old transfers. Those spool change spots. Our next release will probably be Broly, and it will be with our new group name. We actually have everything prepared for that one. Just need to encode it, and put it together
Hey pukulan10jurus. Any updates? Also, do you have all the creditless endings? There's a French home release with the ones from DBZ Movie 10 to Movie 13. Also, your releases are missing the creditless endings for DBZ Movie 14 and 15.
pendekar is dead.hopefully JySzE is going to release movies 14,15 soon.he did release 16.just download the toei bluray dual audio.they are the best.and you can find all of the series as dragon boxes on seperate torrents.do not wait,grab them while you still can.
@pukulan10jurus: Will you continue the releasing?
keep coming by hoping for an update, any idea when you may finish the main dragon ball series? the quality of the encode is better than the remux, wanting to have the full set in this quality prior to my next rewatch. any ideas? (not curious about the movies, just the OG dragon ball series) Thanks!
@JohnnyOak: We encoded everything on the Japanese releases. In the case of movies 14 and 15 I'm not sure the Jap BD's have a creditless ending. Also, considering how the credits don't overlay on the video with those 2, there's little added value to it. @tomux123x: We're not truly dead. Our team just had a rough time with life. I lost both a sister and my bff in the last 2 months alone. Not to mention the others. @wampa1: Yes, we will return under a new name soon. Broly only needs the extra Jap DVD extras subtitled. It will be soon. @sparks: I haven't got a clue. Just keep in mind that we want to do that ASAP. @degus: I see fat bitches in real life all the time. No need to post them to the internetz lol. I expect Broly to be out by the end of this month. Probably sooner. An extra subtitle timer would seriously speed this up. We do intend to get back to work soon, but we could use some help. Especially audio syncers are wanted! Do you guys have any idea how hard it is to sync a BLT or Speedy Dub to a Blu-Ray? DB Movie 01 still has flaws on the BLT dub after all these months, which we might actually leave like that. But something great should happen soon.
yes, mine is 200th comment ;P
as I said(for so many times) pendekar is gone
Not anymore: https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1199683 We did change our name to Shen Long tho. And we opened a blog, as many have requested. The link to it is on the download page of above torrent.
Would this by any chance be the definitive encode of dragon ball here on nyaa?
That is what we're aiming for. Decide for yourself soon.
@pukulan10jurus: Will you finish Dragon ball dragon boxes with dual audio episodes? I downloaded all of them and waiting for the rest. I have to say i appreciate your work and keep it up. Thank you.
@AngelR4: The answer to your question is only 8 posts above you, but yes. The first saga will even be triple audio (BLT dub) or more (the first 4 episodes will again have the Blue Water dub). Keep checking my torrent page or our blog at https://pukulan10jurus.wixsite.com/shenlong to keep up to date. @blaHbluBB: I love myself too. Very, very much lol. But thx. Happy holidays to you too. Note that our group is called "Shen Long" from now on.
How come the video quality of the earlier sagas is less focused and more blurry than the later sagas? Is this a dragon box flaw? Any way to get higher quality versions? And how do yours compare to utsukushii raws in quality?
I also heard the Chinese releases used the dragon boxes as their video source, but its also more focused. Is this true?
nyaa torrent with most comments.
@mattsterZ: I never noticed that, but we didn't mess with the video at all, so these encodes should be really close to the actual box. Our first releases actually were utsukushii remuxes, but the new ones are re-encoded by ourselves. They should be a little better, as utsukushii cropped the video and resized it back to 720x480. The Chinese Dragon Box looks identical to the Japanese one to me, although I didn't put them side by side. The Chinese box has English subs tho, albeit very poor at times (Kamehaha and King Chappa being called Vegeta). It also lacks all Next Episode-Previews and even some Recaps. I also think I remember it being interlaced instead of progressive. Not sure on that one tho. I could rip a disc for you if you want to compare for yourself. I think the complete set is on the internet somewhere, but I only have boxes 4, 5, and 6 in my closet. @Mangalicker94: at least we're getting something done lol.
Congrats on comments amounts milestone, also nice torrent collection !!
hmmmmmmmmm interesting
came here for the memes
Came back after about a year of waiting for, well, anything, but mostly just the rest of classic Dragon Ball as it was SO CLOSE to being done, only to start over... I'll be honest, I'm still kinda reeling on getting rid of my prior DBox rips of Dragon Ball for these now, as no one else has a competent dual-audio releases on here (Can't even find the ones I had originally ripped anymore). Like, I LOVE the quality of these sets, but had I known it'll likely never be complete and I'm SOL on replacing my old rips 2 years later is a bit of a bummer. My own fault, I know, hindsight's super unkind.
They are still being worked on, just being very busy.
it was beautiful
Yes thank you! That would be great if you could rip discs from the Chinese dragon box for me to compare!
Also, any word on the multi-audio re-releases for the rest of dragon ball?
Boom Dragon Ball torrent now with Dragon Ball Z torrent Thank me later
